House Rules and Terms of Use


  • No smoking or vaping


  • Please do not walk on or put any weight on the floor to wall curve of the cycloramic wall. It is made of drywall and cannot support people. 


  • Don’t adjust the thermostat. There are two furnaces in the studio and keeping the temperature regulated is a delicate balance. Call or txt 519.495.5140 and we can adjust remotely if necessary.


  • It’s OK to move things around (except the large brown speakers on the mezzanine level), but please note where they were and put them back.


  • Please take your excess sugar packs, creamers, stir-sticks, napkins, chopsticks, soya sauce packets, paper coffee cups, paper plates, etc. with you. We appreciate the thought, but we really don’t need them. 


  • Please make sure you’re not packing up any of our equipment with your own. All SOHO Studio equipment will have a black or orange SOHO Studios sticker on it. Missing equipment will be billed at replacement cost.

 


Cycloramic/Cove/Infinity Wall


Call it what you will, we try to keep it as clean as possible, but it does tend to get marked up with use. If you need it bright and white for your shoot, we’re happy to put a fresh coat of white down with 24hrs prior notice. The cost to do so is $150.


And we know it’s impossible not to leave a few marks behind when using the cyc wall, but excessive marking (tire marks, blue jeans stains, food, grease, excessive shoe marking, etc.) that necessitate a repaint post shoot or event will incur a $150 fee. We do keeps tabs on the condition of the wall before each booking.



Setup and tear down


Please include your anticipated set-up and tear-down time in your booking request. We do provide a 15 minute grace period before and after your booking. We can, of course, accommodate changing circumstances, and extra time will be billed at $85/hour in one hour increments.



Minimum Booking


Our minimum booking is 2 hours.



Credits/Carryovers


We do not offer credits or carryovers for unused time.



Deposit


We require a $250 deposit to secure your booking. This fee can be paid via credit card or e-transfer (hello@sohostudios.ca) and will be refunded after a post-rental studio inspection. We operate on a “leave it as you find it, replace it if you break it” policy. Excessive marking of the cycloramic wall may result in a re-painting fee, and excessive garbage and/or soiling will result in a cleaning fee. Broken or damaged furniture, fixtures, equipment or any damage to the building itself will be professionally assessed and billed back to the renter accordingly. 



Refund/Cancellation


Cancellations made 7 days or more in advance of your booking will receive a 100% security deposit refund.


Cancellations made within 3 - 6 days will incur a $50 fee.


Cancellations made within 48 hours of your booking will incur a $125 fee, and cancellations made within 24 hours will forfeit your entire deposit. 



Force Majeure


SOHO Studios Ltd. shall be excused from any delay or failure in performance required hereunder if caused by reason of any occurrence or contingency beyond its reasonable control, including, but not limited to, acts of God, acts of war, fire, insurrection, strikes, lock-outs or other serious labor disputes, riots, earthquakes, floods, explosions or other acts of nature.



Limitation of Liability


The Client acknowledges and agrees that SOHO Studios Ltd. will not be liable for any losses or damages, whether indirect, incidental, special or consequential, in profits, goods or services, irrespective of whether or not the Client has been advised or otherwise might have anticipated the possibility of such loss or damage.



No Guarantee


The client acknowledges and agrees that SOHO Studios Ltd. cannot guarantee the results or effectiveness of any of the services rendered or to be rendered. Rather, services shall be executed in a professional manner and in accordance with good industry practice. Best efforts will be used but no results are promised.
